Choosing a piano teacher is key to the success of the learning experience. There are many piano instructors but it is rare to find a qualified teacher who not only possesses the skills and knowledge of the art, but also has the ability to impart those skills onto others. Paul Jessen is a teacher who makes his students want to learn.
Paul Jessen understands how students learn best. His relaxed and compassionate approach, peppered with humour and incredible music trivia knowledge, creates a safe and enjoyable environment for learning. A highly qualified and accomplished musician, Paul Jessen is genuinely interested in motivating his students to be musicians.
Whether he is teaching music theory or technique, Paul Jessen is able to relate to students of any ages and meet their individual needs and learning styles. Our teenage daughter learns the classical pieces he prescribes while also choosing contemporary pieces from pop culture. Our 8 year old daughter flourishes with the positive reinforcement she receives and actually enjoys practicing, looking forward to reaching the "next level". Paul Jessen's extensive experience and individualized approach enable him to work side by side with each student, building skills, confidence, and a love of playing.

-----
Dr. Paul Jessen is a marvellous piano teacher with a deep wealth of musical knowledge.
Paul teaches with skill, patience and wit. I believe his passion for music helps inspire his students to succeed.
In seven years he has taken my daughter from zero to Grade 7 RCM!
The spin off benefits of the piano lessons also include her growing love of music and increased discipline around piano practise.
Paul is responsible, punctual and flexible when changes need to be made.
Always pleasant to deal with, I cannot recommend Dr. Paul highly enough.
